Okay.. I am looking again this morning at the credit expert site. I am noticing that HIS citi has not reported/updated since Septermber of 2001. The balance then was $ 2390.. However this balance (when it was 2150) was moved to a Juniper account and reported in Januaray 2002, as $1927 . In effect nearly the same balance shows on two different accounts. When will Citi-Bank report a ZERO balance or does someone know at what intervals they do report?

Perhaps it is my imagination, but it seems this same thing is happening with several card companies. They don't report on a regualr basis, anyway, so it is hard to detect. However, after I have accumulated a sizable balance on a card, it reports, and then when I pay the card off, they stop reporting again. If, as in your case, I do a BT, the balance then shows on both accounts for and extended period of time, lowering my score. Nothing kills your score like high balances. I stay between 10-20% when I am carrying balances, but it looks like more.

Could they be doing this on purpose, kind of an alternative to not reporting limits, or is it just coincidence? I really don't carry big balances, and not that often, but it sure looks like I do.

    Breeze,

I don't think it's your imagination. It sure seems like when I get a couple of thousand showing on a card they report it almost immediately. But when I pay it off, the balance still shows for months.

There should be some kind of law. Maybe that the creditors HAVE to report to our credit files in some kind of time frame. If Citi hasn't updated us all since September that's oct, nov, dec, jan, feb. - 5 MONTHS! going on 6 ?

You have 3 Citi Accounts? I wonder why they reported you in December? Can you look back on your Experian and see when they reported you before December?

I would recommend leaving a balance of $10.00 that way it's not zero and they will be more likely to report. It's worked for me in the past.

Both my CITI plats were opened on 10/01 and reported to TU and EQ within 30 days. Both updated on 12/2001. Nothing since then. Its early but it looks like my trend for updates is every two months.
Target, GM Card, Statefarm are reporting monthly so far. All were open 10/01 and 11/01.

    EQ 680
    TU 601
    EX 671
E-Loan 641 (is pulled from TU)

TU is my best looking report and EQ is my worst! This scoring crap is a joke!
