On credit expert it ask for your Mother's Maiden what do you put if you dont no it?If I did no it I would not give it to the bureaus because my mother has nothing to do with my credit. Thanks
Hey, LOL. That's true, but usually it is for security purposes. They ask you something you should know, so nobody can pretend to be you. I know it is weird, and it isn't security proof. Whatever you do put, remember it.
I just got off the phone with a friend of mind that did work at a bank in Los Angeles. He told me the reason behind the mothers madian name is a lot of people will change their names to avoid paying the debts they owe.Once they change there name in the court the SSA will change your old name to the new name so will the DMV.And the SSA will only show a match for the new name not the old name if the bank, credit bureaus or anyone else has your mothers madian name they can find out if you change your name or not. Remember you still have your same SSN New name New drivers license number Same SSN You provide that to the bureaus they will remove the debt. He said they lost a lot off money on people changing their names. The above came from my friend that did work at a bank. Thanks
Wow, That's interesting info. I had always heard it was for security purposes. Well, I guess we learn something new everyday.
I can't imagine how my mothers MAIDEN name is going to help them find me. She's been married for 35 years--they probably can't even find HER through her maiden name. I've been married twice, so that's 3 last names for me alone. That's an awful lot of legwork trying to find me thru her maiden name. I would tend to believe it's more for security purposes mysel. Of course, that's JMO!!!
