I have an account that was started in 2/95, at that time I was only 17. Is it even legal to be reporting a contract which was orginate with a minor?

(Okay you know the reason I am asking this is because it has a bunch of late payments associated with it)

    What can I do?????????

    Thanks,

Dispute it as you would anything else. How did it get opened? They wouldn't open it for a minor unless you stretched your age.

I agree, just dispute as usual.

The other argument won't hold water. You committed fraud when you opened the account if you didn't list your correct birthdate. Even if it just slipped through the system, it has been two many years for any argument to be made in the matter.

Didn't lie about my age, matter of fact I was just talking about this with my Mother and neither she nor I remember opening the account, although a few years later my husband (now divorced) and I had a joint account there.

Hmmmm guess another validation letter on the way,

Could it be your Hubby added you as a joint to an account he already had? That would explain the date discrepancy.

Hmmmm that is possible, although I don't remember it - but it was a long time ago, so could be.

A validation request though would tell me eh?
