Does anyone know if it is possible to prevent TransUnion, Experian or Equifiax from giving my credit header information (name-address-social security #) without my permission. If the information is given, does it show up as a traceable inquiry? Any info would be appreciated. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
you can also ask them to put "Fraud alert" on your report, that way if somebody tries to get credit using your name you will be notified by phone that someone is applying for credit in your name.
