I just recently was approved for a Capitol One card with a $500 limit. Has anyone who received this card requested a CL increase immediately after receiving the card. I was thinking of doing this.

C1 will make you wait out 6 months before you can request a cr line increase. At that time, you can PFB Mr. Cooke a ltr asking for a credit line increase and an APR decrease.

How about I try a PFB to Mr. Cooke. Any other suggestions?

Do the PFB after you have the account for six months that way you can prove yourself to Capital One that you can handle your account. You could also call retention right now and see if you can get an increase.

Does anyone have the number for retention for Capitol One?

    Search and ye shall find.

I was able to get a line increase from Cap1 through PFB but I had new information removed from my reports to warrant such an increase so quickly after getting the card. I had to fax the info to Cap1 executive office (Mr Miller/Cooke) to prove it. I doubt (as others have suggested, that you will get much until 6 months of faithful on time payments but never hertz to try.
