I have never figured out why some scores increase and others don';t when you begin an investigation with a CRA.

In theory, they are NOT supposed to include consumer disputed items in a FICO score calculation until these items are verified. However, I do not agree that all places apply this rule fairly and consistently. To that end, does anyone on the board agree that, since CRA's never take any action unless they are specifically asked to (ie; if you dispute an item saying it is not yours but fail to say 'please delete this item' in your dispute, they usually will do nothing), would it be keen to say in your dispute letter with a CRA : "I would like this item suppressed from my public credit file until your investigation is completed".

    ???????????????????????
