Do the banks pull up your report before increasing your credit line? Does this count as an inquiry on your report?

    Thanks.

Sometimes they will, sometimes they won't. It's all a 'corporate policy' thing.

MBNA pulled my reports, resulting in a hard inquiry for me, Providian didnt.

I ask them to look on their computer for an "ALREADY APPROVED" credit line increase because I don't need any inquires...

If they will increase it without an inquiry, I say thank you. If they say they need an inquiry like DISCOVERCARD, EVEN THOUGH I HAVE GIVEN THEM $30,000 TO $80,000 EVERY YEAR FOR 5+ YEARS...I SAY NO THANKS, I DON'T NEED THE CREDIT LINE INCREASED THAT BAD, I HAVE OTHER CARDS THAT WANT MY BUSINESS!!!!
