I sent a letter of dispute to CMI CRRR which they signed for on June 4th. Until yesterday, there was no response. Yesterday, I received a notice in my mail that came to me from them CRRR! In addition, they lowered the amount owed from $884 to $289 on EX. (I disputed the equipment value which was returned but not credited. When you subtract the equipment value, the remainder was $359.55 which I also disputed as being correct!)

Today, I looked at my EX CR. They have updated the collection acct to $289. HOWEVER, there is no notation that this is in dispute. Also, the FDOD (new acronym = First Date of Delinquency), is not correct.

I have already disputed this twice with EX. Actually, it is still under investigation until the 24th.

Suggestions? Should I pick up their CRRR? I wonder if this is a lawsuit or something.....

if they sent a settlement letter with no verification, it is considered continued collection activity. I would seriously send them a nice letter with a copy of the civil summons you filed.
