I use Privacyguard to monitor my credit. I was horrified to see a bunch of inquiries generated by them in the section for hard inquiries. Shouldn't that show in the promotional section or something? Will this impair my credit score?
They definitely should not be in the "hard inquiries" section, and yes they will negatively impact your credit score, especially if you have a significant amount of them. So, make sure they are listed in the "hard inquiry" section. You may want to verify how they look with a direct pull of your report straight from the CRA. Dispute these with the CRA, and call Privacyguard regarding the matter. Cover yourself by writing a letter of dispute to Privacyguard as well.
