If you are late in paying a credit crd or creditor - if you can only afford to send between $50.00 - $100.00 - will they still report you as being late?
Unfortunately, yes. My wife and I ran into this very thing a couple of years ago. We got strapped and couldn't afford the full amounts, so she sent in what she could at the time. I found out later that if, for example, the amount due is $324.56 and you send them $324.55, it's pretty much a MISSED payment. At least that's how First USA and Direct Merchants treat it. That was also their excuse to jack my interest rate to the sky. I would recommend that you call the creditor immediately. A lot of them will work with you. Mine wouldn't.
