Hi all, I've heard from many people that having AMEX and Discover cards look good on your report, but what exactly does this mean? Do you get more FICO points for having these cards than Visa / MC?
I thought all major credit card accounts are given equal weight in the calculation of our FICO scores. If they are not, does it also mean that we get more points for having Gold and Platinum cards?

what that means is credit companies can see your file and recognize AMEX or platinum cards and they start offering you better products b/c of competition.

I seriously do not believe having either calculates into fico however.
