Does anyone have an address for Credit Protection Associates? I had a cable bill that they had in collections. I paid it off but on the phone they said they won't take it off my report, I wanted to send a letter but they don't have an address on their website (www.paycpa.com). Any help on what type of letter would be best is appreciated. Thanks.

They are allowed to report adverse information on your CR for 7 years from the date of first deliquency, whether you pay them or not.
You should have got an agreement in writing (not over the phone) that they would remove their TL in exchange for payment.
Now that they have been paid, there is little incentive for them to do anything for you

All you can do is dispute with the CRA and hopefully get a deletion.

    Their credit reporting address is:

    P.O. Box 802068
    Dallas TX. 75380-2068

Remember, for any credit reporting issues, you have to use this address in order for it to be officially accepted by the C.A. This is the one address that has to remain current on all three CRA's.

    good luck!

Thanks for all the help everyone. I've got one more question though. Before I found this website I had already sent a letter to Experian disputing some of the items on my report. Should I send letters to the CA's now or should I wait until I hear something back from Experian first?

If it were me I'd wait until you hear back from the CRA because you may get what you want then there is no need to contact the CA.

Ok, thanks. I noticed when I pulled my report last week that they had posted a statement I wanted added to my report. I had a judgement that I paid off in 2001. I added a statement telling how I was unemployed but paid it as soon as I had the money. Was that okay? It said they added it 3/11/05
so I guess, I'll here something from them soon.

Adding a statement is only good is someone reads it. A lot of credit apps are processed by computer so the statement doesn't get read. You can always delete it later.

Re: Re: Credit Protection Assoc. ?

The problem with statements is that now you have acknowledged that the judgment is yours, and you can not get it removed by disputing as "not mine"
The good thing is that as more time passes, a paid judgment will be less relevant to your overall scores

Just thought I would add that this is the address given on EX

    Address:
    13355 noel road 21st floor
    one galleria tower
    dallas, TX 75240
    US

Would there be any violations for them not keeping their address current?

Wanted to know cause I am dealing with this CA also.

I have sent 2 DV letters over a 4 month period and still havent gotten a response from them.
