I have enrolled in the credit protection program by my credit card. (It was a major mistake but I didn't know it when I signed up).

Now after realizing how stupid this program is, I called to cancel. But the CSR just keeps on babbling about how good this is and will not cancel it.
I did go strong and said to cancel it today but she goes on and on. blah blah blah

I get no chance to talk and she just pushes this crap so strong, I just couldn't cancel and just hung up.

How can I cancel this credit protection without calling this drones?
I'm thinking of writing a letter. Can anyone recommend a strong letter to send? One that will make the manager cancel my credit protection?

BTW, my card is a student card and I bet they think I'm easy to push around since I'm young.

Just write to the credit card address that is on the statement...NOT the payment address...

"I WANT MY CREDIT PROTECTION CANCELED...don't tell me anything about all the benefits...JUST CANCEL IT"

"I also must have a letter saying it is CANCELED"

Somebody else here has been paying for 2+ years AFTER IT WAS CANCELED!!!

Check your next 2-3 bills to CONFIRM it is REALLY canceled!!!

I had this problem with MBNA a few years ago and I called the fraud department and reported an unauthorized charge. It worked for me.

It's fairly impossible to cancel without the hard sell.

I used to sign up for it every once in awhile for the freebies (gas cards, gift certificates, et al), but I make a note in my calendar to call at least a week before the trial expiration to cancel.

I don't think I ever had a call that was less than 15 minutes while the reps try to push their scripted sales pitches.

Just listen, be patient, then tell the rep you still need to cancel after they've had their say.

If all else fails, like another poster said, call them up and say you never authorized the "protection" in the first place.
