I wanted to know if anyone has used a credit repair service such as Lexington or any other like it. I would be grateful for a referral. Examples of credit scores with a timeline of progress in FICO scoring would be appreciated. The following are my questions: 1. Are the credit repair services legitimate businesses that produce viable results? 2. Do they really follow up and push hard to remove items? 3. Does the credit repair service just keep you on their monthly payment as long as possible to collect interest on your payments? How long is the process? 4. Is it more effective than trying to do the credit repair yourself? 5. I have a couple of items that have settled and 8 in collections or charged off. Can all of these items be removed and what are the chances? I have been in this situation for a little over a year with good credit before this started. Thanks
Yes, we are post bk7 2 years in spring, have been using Bradley Ross Law and have had very good results. Myficos started in 500's, now in the 700's for both myself and DH. There are many on this board who prefer to do their own work and are good at it, but for me there is nthing set in stone as a way of dealing with all of the different issues and I would surely have screwed up something, however, I continue to learn and am getting braver. I have learned much about rebuilding credit fromthis board and appreciate so much the administrators and posters. Should add, we have been using BR for 1 year. My experience is: Ordered all 3 cr's from them and you also get a myfico score. Disputes are started, you receive cr's, copy for your own, then forward to your case analyst, BR emails back to you they are rec'd. You see what is going onwith your reports everytime you get one in the mail, and I love that. If you have a qustions, you can call, I email however, since I like to have a copy of everything, timely answers, less than 24 hours, usually about 2 hours from my case analyst. WE are very pleased with the service and also with the boards from what we have learned. ONce BR can no longer get deletions, I may try it myself, but they have been conisistently performing with a system that has worked well. I can give you all deletions etc. if you are interested, I dont' want to ramble on, but there you go. Other onthe boards that have used BR with good results are safti and 1shyguy

Hi itsmymoney, Thanks for the info. Samples of your deletions would actually be fine with me. Meganet3
Do the letters sent by BR produce 'was previously verified' letters from EXP? Have they had good success with EXP?
I have heard Lexington does not send CRRR and they are actually not ALL lawyers or paralegals working on your repair. They are regular peoples like u and I! I also heard that you rcv all correspondence from the CA/OC/CRAh and have to FWD it all on to them weekly. I have found that I can do for a lot less money what any repair company can do. If you do not have the time (it's very time consuming and brain-racking!) then a reputable repair company would benefit your situation. For some it's worth the money.
Meganet3 Please go to search "itsmymoney" and scroll down to post "Credit after Bankruptcy SNyder" thread started by snickers, that will give you our results thus far. I should any day now we'll be receiving new cr's as I just sent the newest ones of about 3 weeks ago with 2 new deletions on my TU. To answer Atlanta, yes I have rec'd "previously verifieds" from all 3, at different points in time, but Exp. is proving to be the toughest CB for us. I think everyone has one particular credit bureau that is a bulldog....... But again, we are very pleased with what is happening for us with BR. I would love nothing more than to have the confidence to do this myself, but each deletion or correction I read about that someone else has rec'd on their own, I applaud. We each have to figure out what works best for own situations.......
