Credit Repair Results (in general)

I found this board and began my credit repair on March 14th of this year. My credit situation was hopeless with my best report containing 17 negatives. I didn't think for a moment back then that I'd ever get things cleaned up.

With the latest dispute results in this week, I am down to three negatives on TU and Equifax and four on Experian. This last round of disputes with TU I managed to get that damn (incorrect!) Ford repo off as well as a current state tax lien. If I get the tax lien off of Experian sometime in the next few months I can actually begin the process of buying a home. If not, I'll have to wait until the end of next year when I have it paid off. Either way, last March there was no way I could even have thought of applying for a mortgage. Today, the lack of a mortgage is actually one of my reason codes for my score.

I now have prime credit cards so I don't have to be embarrassed when I have to travel on company business or pick up the check in a restaurant. Even if my credit improvement stopped today, I'd feel I've made enough progress so that credit history wasn't making my everyday life harder.

I'd like to thank everyone here for your knowledge, support and encouragement. If you're new here and just beginning the process of credit repair, you should know that there's hope and in a relatively short amount of time you can see fantastic results.

I've used Lexington and now the online systems to dispute with CRAs, the BBB to help with a particularly nasty CA that had multiple entries on all of my reports, PlanetFeedback, telephone calls and letters to original creditors and have been persistent in my contacts with current accounts to obtain better terms whenever possible. It all works.

    Happy holidays everyone.

Congrats Dave. Although I was a member of this board in 2000, I started my credit repair at about the same time as you with similar results. Way to go.

What tactic did you use to get rid of the liens?

Great post Dave. Your words are very encouraging.

Just think, someone new to the board is feeling overwhelmed. Boy are they in for a pleasant surprise when they discover that there is both hope and a tremendous support system in place - FREE OF CHARGE!!

Do a search for them in this forum, a lot of people have used them.

A lot of people also feel that they could have done the same job by themselves for free.
