I wanted to find out if I have any recourse against dealing with someone who claimed to be able to fix credit. I was working with this guy since Febuary 2003 and to date, I have not seen a tremendous jump in my credit score. I have managed to do some stuff myself and have gotten my credit to look decent. I just have a few more accounts to pay, which I will do by the end of this week. My loan officer is pretty knowledgeable and said that we could do some stuff through rapid rescoring. I have letters from all the creditors that I have paid. I did get some deletions from ones that I have paid and also some deletion from stuff that they could not verify. I guess, my question is, as I stated before, what recourse do I have with this guy. I think he took my money and did not deliver on what he claimed he could do. I was a fool I guess. I paid him $1000--$500 for myself and $500 for my husband. I have the cancelled checks to show.

He told me that he would get us to 640 in three months. I signed on with him in February. It is now December and I have raised my scores to high 500s. He also said that he would get all the bad stuff off. To date he only got two accounts off and those were pretty old and basically unverifiable because they changed hands.
Re: Re: Credit Repair Scam I know by now you realize that no one can legitamately promise to raise your credit to a set point. You should report this person to the Better Business Bureau. If you have something in writing, you might also have a claim, but otherwise I think you need to chalk it up as a hard lesson learned and continue with your own repairs.
