I just checked my credit report on Equifax (score in sig). I noticed my Fleet CC's Prior Paying History states "Account Closed By Credit Grantor". I use this card more than any other, and I have been using it, so this statement must be incorrect unless it means something besides what it says. Should I file an investigation or contact Fleet first? Also, the same incorrect information is on my Experian report.

I would call Fleet and ask for a supervisor. Explain the situation and ask them to re-report the account minus the notations. It shouldn't be any problem. Actually, you can ask them to fax a UDF (universal data form) to the cra's for a faster update.

The CRAs have a 30% accuracy rate so your report couldn't be wrong!
