Can the same debt be listed more than once on the credit report? There are several debts on my report that show being listed under the org creditor and charged off and then purchased by another agency and then sold to another agency. Each CA is listing the debt on the report. Is this legal?

Yes, they can do that if they note the preceeding debt to be "sold or transferred."

So how many Derogs is it counted on your report?

I only know this because I have one too. As far as I can tell, they both count in the total number of negative items. Supposedly, the listing noted as "sold/transferred" becomes unrated; thus, not affecting your score. The score remains a mystery so who really knows what effect these accounts may have on it.

On a side note, hopefully the individual listings are not all reporting the same balance. That is what happened to me. It made it look like I had double the debt. THe original creditor is supposed to zero out their listing so that doesn't happen.
