Different subject (kinda) but this year our local Walmart has a tax person from Jackson Hewitt set up at this itty bitty table in front of Customer Service. One stop shop! Not for me but guess some people were using it since she was working. The sign said Have your taxes prepared while you shop!"

Don't know if this was done last year too, but I just noticed it.

I used H&R Blotch one time and will never do anything like that again. I can read tax law better than they can.

Of course, that was many years ago before I got in to doing taxes for others. And since I was doing it on the side, it got to be too much.

But most people can do it themselves and save the fee. In my case I could have done some things differently and paid a lower tax bill.

If I needed tax help, I'd consult a CPA, ER or tax attorney.

So, my advice to the board--when you're in Wal*Mart or Sears or wherever, walk past the tax booth.
