If I'm paying off all my back medical bills that are in collection why would my credit score drop? I have 1to new account which is always paid early. Just don't understand.
If you are paying on old medical collections and the status of the those collections is changed to paid or settled. You are actually refreshing a negative item on your credit report. This will lower your credit score. Before you pay anymore collections ask to have the items completely removed if you pay them. Make sure you get this in writing. That is the only way you will see a improvement in your credit score by paying old collections off. I know it doesn't make sense to be penalize for paying your bills. THanks!
