    1*companies who profit by your misfortune, and have no desire to help you or even to see you recover on your own.
    2* Everyone makes more money when you have bad credit.
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~``
    2*And The CRAs an FICO will do their best to create it.
    IMHO>>>>>
    1* Somewhat true
    2* Yeah, definetely TRUE------>higher interest rates on just about everything
    2*Likely true
    BUT......we aren't just their pawns LB. I was able to bring my FICO scores from the low 500's to the mid to upper 700's (except with the *evil one of course). I would say a 200 point gain in FICO points would qualify as victory, not victimization.
    How many threads about FICO scores can you possibly ruin? The answer is 100%.
    #1 Many of us here have damaged credit. How do we possibly see if we are making any progress? FICO score does help alot!
    #2 I actually have a pretty good idea how Fair Isacc grades these credit reports. I have dealt with over 100 credit reports with the FICO score included and have played with the simulators on all of them. I have also wrote down, taken notes and played with the math on all of the changes between reports.
    #3 Do you really think a company like Fair Isacc would even exist if these scores meant nothing and had no reason behind the scores? FICO uses so many real variables to come up with these scores. If it was easy to figure it out 100%, someone would have written about it by now.
    #4 How many FICO score reports have you actually seen and tried to figure out personally before making comments like that? Are they maybe a little to difficult for ya?
    #5 My FICO scores are posted in my signature to show that progress can be made here on CreditNet. FICO scores are maybe not the only thing others look at for decisions or rates. But they do play an important part in todays credit world.
    #6 Have you ever thought about this? I would bet many CRA employees have a pretty good idea what their FICO scores are. I would bet some of them have never had damaged credit and their scores might be close to mine. These employees make decisions on disputes and things being verified along with the other things they do. I would bet that would be the closest thing to some of the off the wall theories or ignorant comments made about FICO scores.
    #7 These FICO scores can be manipulated in a positive way. I 100% doubt my FICO scores are going to go down without me knowing why. It took me about 50 FICO score reports to start to actually understand what changes drive the score up vs down. And also what effect it has on the FICO score. Sometimes a negative effect can cause a double negative impact on the FICO score. It goes the same way on the positive side also. And of course -1+1=0 sometimes.
    #8 Some of us have different religous views. Some of us have different political views. And so on. I have my views about FICO scores and some people here agree with me. Other people here have other views about FICO scores (RNG, farce) whatever. I would really hope these people that have different beliefs about FICO scores would quit ruining EVERY thread that deals with FICO score questions, comments or how FICO scores are determined.
    F.I.C.O. has many errors that cause things to happen that should not happen...
    PAY $30,000 IN ONE MONTH take a BIG F.I.C.O. HIT...MONTHS TO RECOVER
    Pay down every single card $1,000 OR MORE lose F.I.C.O. points
    SIMULATOR says I will NEVER get 800!!!
    25+ years NO BADDIES, EVER
    YES IT IS SOMETHING TO GO ON...YES IT IS A TOOL...BUT IT HAS MANY IMPERFECTIONS--ONE INQUIRY IS BETTER THAN ZERO IS ONE EXAMPLE...JUST MOVED IS BETTER THAN 2.49 YEARS AT YOUR RESIDENCE IS ANOTHER...
    F.I.C.O. ANSWERS TO NOBODY LIKE CRA'S ANSWER TO NOBODY
    ANOTHER PROBLEM---A LOW F.I.C.O. SCORE CAUSES ONE TO BE RIPPED OFF ON INSURANCE RATES EVEN IF THEY NEVER HAD A CLAIM, TICKET OR ACCIDENT!!!
    NO BK
    NO COLLECTIONS
    NO LATES
    NO OVER-LIMITS
    25+ YEARS
    NO CLAIMS
    NO ACCIDENTS
    ONE TICKET 7+ MPH (1983)
    GEORGE, I understand it isn't perfect. I fully agree with you there.
    Where do you get the 1 is better than 0?
    Where do you get the moving points?
    I bet I can point out where that information is wrong.
    Do you have a www address?
    I know FICO doesn't like you much. I understand your RNG comments. I think they are funny actually.
    Alot of people that had your simular credit patterns in the past probably went bad. FICO does not count income or other individuals who know how to take advantage of dirt cheap APR. FICO does not count APR
    I looked into alot a few months ago. The chart is just an example of mortgage scoring. I remember doing alot of searches on the sources on that.
    It is pretty obvious actually by looking at the chart vs how FICO is scored.
    You are correct, but it has nothing to do with that chart. Read some of the pages related to the meeting.
    OWN/RENT
    Years at adress
    Occupation
    Years on job
    Bank reference
    These things do not figure into a FICO score. But they do figure into someone scoring a mortgage.
    They are just basic examples really.
    The only reason it says Fair Isacc at all is just because the Senior Vice President of Fair Isacc at that time was there, Peter McCorkell. It looks like the slides were presented by Fair Isacc but just gave an example of how mortgage scoring effects the whole deal vs FICO scores.
    I have more if you want.
    I am pretty sure you get the bonus for the one inqury on that chart is because the one inquiry is coming from the mortgage already being applied for.
    GEORGE, read page 18 if you don't want to read it all. That will tell you that the chart is just an example.
