I have a fico score of 630 on my trans union credit report. Is this a pretty good score to start out with?

well, mine is a 550 so i think a 630 would be wonderful!

on a serious note, 630 is decent - not great, but not a 550 either. you need a 620 to get decent home loan rates and 100% financing; rate of about 6% on auto loans; some reasonable unsecured cards.

your ideal goal should be 720 - this will get you the best rates for anything.

keep reading creditnet and you will get there!
