Your only have to pull it after something like 3 a.m. Eastern time. It doesn't have to be exactly greater than 24 hours. I HAVE seen it change less than 24 hours since last pull.

I don't understand your comment. What does pulling prior to 3am get you? 2 pulls per day?

It wasn't a comment. It was my answer to dsl's question. The 24 hour strict wait like at Credit Watch is not required at PG. You can pull one day's report at 6am, 11am, 4pm, or 11pm, whatever, and then still pull the next day's at 3:01 a.m. if you like. You'll have to judge for yourself whether that's any value to you, I'm just tellin' what the behavior of the system is.

In other words, PG only ("supposedly") allows one pull per day. However, there's no day-to-day time passage constraint of 24 hours like at EQ Credit Watch.

    Hope that clarified it.

yes, Thanks. The 3AM time is helpful as I have tried to pull at 12:30 and now know why it didn't work :)

    Good.

I seem to remember with more certainty that the magic time is 3 AM EASTERN because it's controlled from the West Coast, which you would more readily expect to have a "magic" time of midnight.

    Yes. Lucid.

BTW, I liked your FICO score format. I used some of it and am tweaking it. Thanks!

The cheapest cheap way to check your credit scores? Lose your job!

They have to give you one free credit report per 12-month period if you're unemployed and planning to apply for a job in the next 60 days. Equifax makes you call for your free CR but I just got mine, plus my score, from TU online. Experian is already sending me a free report but that's because of Chase jacking my rate up.

If you want your FICO scores you will have to pay for your reports, though. Use the REP110 promo code on www.myfico.com to get them for $11.65 each instead of $12.95.

The score on my TU report was 601. I don't think it's a FICO score because it didn't say FICO, it just said Credit Score. I think Equifax is the only one that comes with a bona fide FICO score.

Anyway, to my surprise, the TU CR was 100% accurate. Everything was closed that was supposed to be closed, there were no negs, all the open accounts were correct and the balances were right on target. Whaddaya know!

FYI, BofA, Citi and AT&T use TU.

Nope, you ain't gonna get your FICO scores that way, which are the only ones worth having.
But your FICO score won't come with it.
But your FICO score won't come with it.
Or, through 9/15/03 use "pvn814" to get it for $9.95 or, after that use "unionplus" to get them for $11.01: http://www.htmlcenter.com/myfico.html
    Absolutely correct.

Re: Re: Re: Credit Scores: cheapest

You get what you pay for! :)

My aim at this point was (is) more to find out what's in my reports and make sure it's all accurate than to find out my FICO scores. I'm not contemplating applying for credit or any major purchases. The only problem I'm having (so far) I already know the reason for.

However, in terms of the purposes of this thread, your point is well taken. The scores won't be the true FICO scores when you order reports based on conditions for free reports, such as unemployment or recent adverse decisions based on the contents of your report.

Also, people should be cautious when ordering their reports that they're ordering the reports WITH the FICO scores, if that's what they want to receive. You can also order your report(s) without the FICO scores and they're cheaper. It can be confusing with all the different combinations of products they offer.

Re: Re: Re: Credit Scores: cheapest

As for the cheapest way to get all three credit scores here's a few options I found. I haven't pulled credit reports with any of these:

    http://www.kennedyandcompany.homestead.com/FreeCreditReport.html
FreeCreditReport and 3 scores with Pre-Qualification Worksheet. WARNING! I don't think there is a way around it dinging your score due to hard inquiry.

    www.loan-magic.com
This is intended for professionals in the industry. I thought it will help me find a loan for me and some family members since a family member has a broker's licence any way, but it turned out not to. It's neat for a mortgage broker preparing a proposal for a customer, but instead of it automatically selecting the best loan options based on criteria of the hundreds of lenders it has in the system and specific customer information inputed, which is what I was expecting, you have to actually know the criteria of lenders you want to work with and manually select the loans you would like to compare and offer the customer. I found it worthless for what I was trying to do and promptly canceled my free 30 day trial before the $19.95 monthly charge kicked in.

If you order credit reports through them they are $18 for 3 reports 3 scores. As this is intended for RE professionals I'd expect it to give true scores, but WARNING! I don't think there is a way around it dinging your score due to hard inquiry. They sent me a free glass mug, a pen and some jolly ranchers : )

Regarding your last link, these are NOT FICO scores.

Any other score is snake oil.

Thanks for pointing that out. It's the only 3 in 1 I found that comes with 3 scores and for $40. Wasn't checking wether its true FICO at the time and I was under impression experian was one of the few places you can get the true FICO. How did you find out about this? From experience or can you link where it says so cause I can't find it.

OF TOPIC Privacy Guard save page

This is of topic, but I didn't think it deserved a new thread and since PG was discussed here I thought I'd ask.

How to save a local html copy of the report WITH GRAPHICS? Unlike other services I used PG doesn't let you save the report with all the graphics by just going to file>save as, not even using the Mozilla.org browser. What I used to do is select "edit with OpenOffice.org HTML Editor" from the file menu in Internet Explorer and since it for some reason stopped giving me that option in the menu I just copy and paste the page to the editor and save it from there.

This, however doesn't save the graphics so I don't have the little green circles, but only boxes for each month of the two year history.

Re: Re: Re: Credit Scores: cheapest

    1) Experience mostly.

    2) At the Experian website you may have to dig around to find out that they are CreditXpert scores. CrediXpert is an algorithm owned by Neuristics, Inc. The FICO algorithm is owned by Fair Isaac. One big hint is that, if it is a FICO score, you will see the "FICO" trademark displayed when you buy the score and on the score report. FICO is a registered trademark. If it isn't displayed, you can be fairly certain it's not FICO.

Re: OF TOPIC Privacy Guard save page

The best alternative I've found is using FinePrint pdfFactory Pro. It installs just like a printer driver in Windows and you "print to" that printer. It writes a PDF file to wherever you specify. I have TONS of reports saved in that fashion. Of course, you need a free copy of Adobe Acrobat to read and (hard) print them, but it serves my prupose in excellent fashion. http://www.pdffactory.com/

    HTH !

You can get a free demo that only puts a nag text string in the footer. There are crakz out there but I'm not that unethical !

Awesome! Couldn't care less about the nag text. I use acrobat all the time. Being able to create pdf files in a snap like that is a great bonus. Thanks for sharing.
