In general, which of the three credit bureaus post higher scores? I just checked (using a free offer) and Equifax gave me a 602. Now I'm wondering how the other 2 would score me? Higher? Lower? About the same? Any help is appreciated!
If you have clean reports with all 3 the scores should be around the same. EXP usually updates accounts first, then EQ, then TU. So if you have clean reports and your balances are going up TU would probably have the best score at that time. If your balances are going down EXP might be your better score at that time. If you have recently received a CL increase the same would go as above. Negative information would be a toss up between all 3 reports, along with hard inquirys its hard to say what each CRA has information about you. Some collection accounts only report to 1 or 2, some judgments only report to 1 or 2, just like inquirys. Negative information is sometimes only reported to 1 or 2 CRA's. Here is an example, I have a car loan I paid off a few years ago. I was 30 days late 7 times during the loan. 2 of the CRA's say 7 30 day lates, and one CRA says perfect payment history with that loan. If you have negative payment history or have a reason to believe your credit reports may be different, I would check all 3 reports. If you have perfect payment history I probably wouldn't worry about your FICO score being much different on all 3 credit reports. The money spent for the FICO score on the other two wouldn't be worth it.
