    Doc:

I understand what you're saying and you might be amazed, but I agree. Where the issue lies is that I admit that multiple methods are needed in most cases. Bill will tell you the same song and dance for every situation.

I listen to the question and play the numbers based on personal success and those shared here. Many times there are quicker or simpler methods to get the results people are search for... and they're FREE. Sometimes Bill's methods are the best or only way, but not always as he claims.

I'm glad to hear you agree with me on the need for Bill to be honest in his SPAM. I wish you would join me in urging that he remove it from this board or at least pay creditnet.com a finders fee for all of his "customers".... it's not like he's paying the taxes!

    One point to this discussion:

Bill, I would call this a "renewing grant", simply because the "CASH" to which bkev refers would be that of the "Cold-Hard" variety.

There is a time value of money concept here-how much is it worth to have the notation removed (original amount). And therefore receive the value, future oriented, of that notation not being on your report? Negatively impacting your ability to gain credit or maintain favorable interest rates? The time and effort it takes to dispute, address errors, etc. associated w/that notation?

You could almost do a Mastercard-esque promotion on this one, Bill ( Ironic, isn't it?)

"Cost of credit wrench: 49$. Cost of a postal stamp: 34 cents. Items removed from your credit report: Priceless."

Of course, I'll charge a small consulting fee for brand positioning on that one ;)

Why would you call it a "renewing grant"? How often does it renew? Just wondering... Mute point now that he's stopped the false advertising.

The Mastercard Ripoff was cute... :)

Bkev, quick clarification for you and everyone... While I suggested that Bill drop the "free grant" terminology, I didn't agree with your use of the word "spam" in this context. I realize we could probably go round and round about the definition, and it's not my intent to do that -- so have the last word if you like. (Please try not to put additional words in my mouth regarding additional points when I agree with you on one point -- thanks!)

    Bkev:
It's a renewing grant because you can get it renewed once for each bill they are trying to collect from you. (If you are lucky, that is)

    LOL

Actually, it was meant as a tongue-in-cheek reference to another thread dealing with scam artists advertising that they can get you free grants of thousands of dollars.

So I was just being "funny", not trying to advertise anything.

    Have a nice day

    SPAM

From the index page of creditnet.com

    http://www.creditnet.com/
No gimmicks. No spam. Just the honest-to-god truth spreading like wildfire.

From the terms of service page....
    http://consumers.creditnet.com/au/terms.html

    g) upload, post, email or otherwise transmit any unsolicited or unauthorized advertising, promotional materials, "junk mail," "spam," "chain letters," "pyramid schemes," or any other form of solicitation, except in those areas (such as shopping rooms) that are designated for such purpose;

BTW, I see nothing funny or humorous about false advertising. I can not speak for creditnet.com/PBM or the FTC.... That is no better that the porn sites that use keyword searches for "Brittney Spears" to send you to "Animal Sex" or whatever.... No humor at all.... Deceptive practices.... Bait and Switch.... Call it what you want, it's illegal!

How on earth do you guys get TU to even look into anything. EVERYTIME I have disputed with them, I usually dispute 5 or 6 things, they send back a letter verify 3 of them and no other word on the other ones. EXCEPT they write on the particular accounts, 'consumer disputes' and those usually have an updated date of 3/2000. So I dont think they are even checking with those. I never asked to have that little 'consumer dispute' statement put there, but they did.
I don't think equifax checks everything, when I dispute my late payments with them I get a new report in about 2 weeks with it taken off.
Experian, well they haven't removed ANYTHING. They investigate it and it always comes back the same.
What kind of legal mumble jumble or FCRA references can I make?

Oh, come on....I have been watching this thread for a while laughing at some of the remarks, but that is just ridiculous. How in the world do you compare that to porn? And animal sex? Well that is just UDDERLY disgusting!!!! (sorry, coudn't resist)

I think Bill has given enough free advice around here to be allowed a frigging link in his signature. Geez.

Well, you wouldn't buy what I advertise any more than you wanted animal sex, so what's the difference to you?

As far as getting or seein any animal sex out of that link, that's false advertising too, and you didn't holler about that.

You didn't mind posting a supportive advertisement for a funny bunny lawyer whose website turns out to be an official website for Collections World Magazine instead of for a bona-fide lawyer really looking for business.

Who do you work for, Collections World Magazine too?

Seems to me like all you want to do is P*** and moan about others instead of either trying to be helpful or learn, not that I give a hoot who you are or who you work for.

Now just leave me out of it because I don't like to be getting into these silly fights over nothing with you or anybody else.

Actually, Bill, don't let these battles bother you. Three reasons:

    1) You've done a great job for me and quite a few others from what I've seen posted here.

    2) Every time somebody criticizes, somebody else invariably posts a testimonial. That effectively makes others wonder what the fuss is about and effectively spotlights Creditwrench. I've not seen anybody put forward a negative testimonial, although that could happen one of these days. (You can't please everybody.)

    3) Remember the phrase "like water off a duck's back"? Read and heed.

    ANIMAL SEX ANYONE!!!

Bill I wont even click on a link that talks about animal sex. It would totally defeat all of those afternoons that Bob Barker asked us to get our pets spade or neutered LoL... By the way you did a great job giving me some great ideas. I would imagine that your information probably helped me save around $100 a month or more. All for a very nominal fee if you ask me.

Anyway, even Bill Bauer would be the first to admit that you can do the stuff on your own. You could get the help of those who post here for free. You could memorize different sections and study the hell out of the FDCPA, FCRA. You could make as many mistakes as you like on your own. I did it myself and it took me quite a while, almost two years. I approached it full force for about six months. If I would have enlisted Bill earlier on, I would have saved myself at least 6 months of credit hell. My worst report had over 20 negative items. I was able to remove over 90% on my own. Sure, a few fell of using simple disputes asking for verification to the CRA. Most of my success was derived from my own ingenuity and tenacity. I even used government agencies to help me along with threatening the utility companies. I negotiated settlements (which some would not advise) and I got pretty good at it. I learned a whole lot about CYA. I studied the FTC letters and writings and I even downloaded most of their website. I learned all about vacating judments ( I had 3 on my reports). I was pretty self sufficient.
The last couple items were becoming a real pain. I wasnt sure how to get these folks to respond the way that I needed them to. Bill helped me with that and I am grateful. I received a lot of help from some folks here on this board. But the really hard stuff started sliding off like a Salvidor Dolly painting when I used a couple of Bill's ideas.

    Re: Animal Sex anyone??/

Thanks for the kind words, Godaddyo.
Actually, I'm just now working on one of the meanest tricks ever to be played on a collection agency as far as I know. My plan for it is to make the creditor get on the horn and start screaming at the 3rd party collector demanding that the collector settle with me or my customers or else.

Maybe I'm just dreaming, and maybe I'm on to something that could possibly turn out to be pure dynamite, thanks to Breeze. Only time and some legal research will tell.

As far as the animal sex link goes, I seriously doubt that even Bob Barker would be upset by what's on that link to a University study about sexually transmitted diseases of animals to humans. The suggested possible manner(s) of transmission might be a bit offensive to some, but what the heck. It has even been suggested that aids may have been caused by humans having sex with monkeys in the backwoods of Africa. But it's a University study report, not anything actual bestial or all that offensive in nature.

Just a tongue-in-cheek example of "false advertising".

    LOL

The meanest trick of all so far

I was just talking about my mean trick to play on 3rd party collectors and it is a definite go.
Just got an email in from David Szwak and he says the article Breeze found and posted is correct and so I now have the most potent weapon available to play on 3rd party debt collectors. I can hardly wait to hear the screams of pure anger from the debt collectors when they get hit with this one. And there won't be one thing they can do about it but scream and cry a whole lot.

I'm sure there will be some bugs to be worked out along the way simply because there always are, but they will be minor indeed.

But using this one will surely hang them out to dry even when they have already filed for summary judgment. It should stop a summary judgment dead in it's tracks, dismissed by the debt collector himself rather than face the consequences of this one.

    It's brutal.

    Thanks a million, Breeze.
You've put us light years ahead of the rest by posting that one little link

Geeeeeze, Bkev... I posted a link about getting "free" money that was just supposed to be funny, not serious at all. I didn't make a penny off of it and I didn't intend to. Nobody spent any money because of my little joke link. Does everything around here have to be dead-pan serious? Can't we all look for and see a little humor once in a while? Sheesh!

And in another recent post you claimed I started this little set-to between us. I'd like to see a reference to that post that offended you so deeply.

Would you please be so kind as to provide me with the reference to it? I may indeed owe you an apology, and if I do, you can bet you will get it.

We need to bury the hatchet around here, and not in each other's backs.
