    Hi,

Iâ??m trying to build credit history. After getting informationâ??s about secured cards, my second goal is to go for credit union card, in my trip to final goal â?? obtaining prime cards.
Iâ??m looking for some good credit union card, which reports to all 3 CRAâ??s. I know there is a lots of them, but not sure where to go. And I donâ??t know much how they work. Basically what is advantage/disadvantage ?

Any info would be more then welcome.
    Thanks,
    Denny

David have you heard about PFCU secured? Are they good? Someone said "be aware - this is not a cute card". Any reason for that?

    Thanks!

PFCU can mean quite a few different credit unions. I'm assuming you mean the Pentagon Federal Credit Union.

Don't know anything about it. I don't know what they mean by "not a cute card". Sorry I couldn't help you more. Hopefully someone else knows.

Which area do you live and maybe someone in that area can give you a good recommendation for a credit union?

My credit union has 9.9% fixed Platinum Visa deal, if you qualify (FICO > 720, I was told) ...

If you do direct deposit, you get CheckFree BillPayer service for free; plus, if you want, paper checks for free. They also reimburse you for out-of-network ATM charges upto $5 per month, and pay you 0.25% more in any certificate accounts you open with them.

They have great auto loan rates, as well as deposit rates. A 6-month certificate, without DD, is currently 1.74% (1.75% APY). Compare that to NetBank, which gives 1.71% (1.72% APY), and supposedly NetBank is the best deal among banks out there ...

Can't say enough good things about my CU...

Email me if you are interested in joining.

Oh, BTW, since you are interested in building a credit history, and since you want a secured credit card that reports to all 3 bureaus ... this is it. They will give you a secured card starting out at $500 deposit (your deposit = your limit), won't require a hard inquiry for a secured card, and report to all 3 bureaus as unsecured card. Will unsecure the card after 2 years (yeah, long period, but you can always risk a hit on your CR and apply for unsecured card from the same CU). Speaking from personal experience regarding that.

You might be able to find some local credit unions in your area. I pretty much found my credit union by searching the internet, and turns out that the only requirement was that I lived in the area... pretty good loan rates too.
