I am actually posting about my husband...but this is great! He filed bk in 1993,and has done a good job at reeastablishing his credit. It has been hard, but we've been working in it. I also have to add that we have learned A LOT from Creditnet and got 5 late payments (some of which were really wrong) off from Nissan MAC (That was our big CHOD triumph!) on EXP.

He just got approved for a 7.99% auto refinance at our credit union...yes, we had to talk our way through several people but we just nice and sweet and quite honestly went over the heads of the CS reps to get directly to a loan officer.

He'd had great luck with GMAC in the past, but this is a Nissan and he'd gotten Auto One with 11.75%.

He does have some things in dispute, so that might actually be how he got it--but hey!!! We have a car loan through the CU who has previously never wanted to touch him in the past!!!!!!!!!!!!! (it's an individual loan, not joint)

Big jump forward....and we also "accidentally" saw their tier rates....to get the best rate they offer--5.99--Beacon scores have to be in the very high 700s. Wow. I remember someone posted Toyota's A tier was 680.

Yipppeeeee!!! We are going this morning to all the refinancing paperwork.

Thanks...the main thing is that we got the credit union to do a loan for him--they are so conservative in their lending that this is a real victory.

Of course, I want to hurry up and get it done before they change their minds!!!!!

Might be because of the rates being so low right now that the CU wants has money to throw, but hey - that's their problem and your benefit :)

If you have credit cards that you want to consolidate you might be able to get approved through the bank as well. Check with your CU first, since mine already had the credit report for the auto refinance they applied for the loan with the same report. Much to my surprise they approved it.

Worst that can happen is they look at your report and tell you it can't be done, doesn't hurt to try since it won't "ding" your report.

    Good luck with the loan...
