Well I go online and try to subscribe to credit watch and I get that same ol' we are unable to verify your identity online, and than it gives a phone number to call. I call and talk to the lady, go thru the steps to identify myself. She than tells me that creditwatch wont work for me because I havn't established enough credit. I than told her that it worked thru myfico.com last week and reported a score of 701. She goes "wow, thats impressive, than it should work for you" Well to make a longer story short she emailed me a password and gave me a new member ID. Than I ordered it and I love it! Its going to be great. BUT i've found a problem. Well before equifax listed my birthdate as 8/3/1983. It is actually 8/3/1984. Well as of todays report they have it listed as 1/01/1983. Any idea of why it'd change like this ? And because my report is owned by a different agency or something like that I have to dispute it with them. Also this report lists hard and soft inquires unlike the myfico.com. Capitol one does a review at least once a month, if not twice! Is this normal ? Also capitol one hasnt reported the payment where I paid off the card yet, with that as well once the new target card begins to report how will these affect my score ? Any ideas ? Thanks!

I don't know the answer to your Cap 1 questions but I have been having the same kind of trouble ordering credit watch and it is not for lack of credit.

You are making me feel so old. Born in 1984? That is the year I was a JR in high school and I met my now husband. You were born the year of Breakfast club!!!

Errors happen for no good reason on CR's. That is why we monitor them. It is actually cost effective for the companies to keep making errors if not intentionally. I see no incentive to convince them to stop making errors.

Good, I'm not the only one Diane. I was a junior that same year....

Little or no credit shouldn't be an excuse to not provide the service. You got a SSN don't you? It seems weird Cap1 is checking so often. they check me once a month though.

LOL! If I wasn't to do anything about the birth information would if really affect anything ? If it has the strength to affect something as such being denied for credit or affecting my score I'll go thru the trouble of changing it, or should I do it anyways ? LOL I have NO IDEA why it'd list it as 1/01. Also last year TeleCorp PCS did a PM inquiry on my report, I've never heard of that place. Cap. One shows a soft inquiry usually every month listed on the report, a couple of them were two in one month. The rep. for equifax couldn't really tell me WHY it was telling me it couldn't identify me, just fixed it. Also everytime I've tried to pull my equifax report and it wasnt successful, they still places a soft inquiry on my report. That doesnt seem right but it doesnt really matter. Soft inquires are only viewable by me, right ? I forgot about the FICO simular and used that to get what my score might be after Cap. one reports the card paid off, and target starts reporting. With target reporting it said my score will vary between 698-711, with The cap one being paid off it would increase around 724-760. Quite a variance, will be eager to see how it actually changes. I dont mind paying $69 to be able to check my report and score an unlimited number of times per year. Glad it finally worked for me :)

I was in junior high also, God I loved that movie. Remember St. Elmo's Fire? How about when Michael Jackson was really famous and everybody loved him. Def Leppard had a hit on the radio every other day! Boy those were the days. Hey Def Leppard came out with a new CD. We are not old, we aren't even aged.

St.Elmos Fire, the brat pack, phil collins *su-su-susudio) Those really were the days. Def Lepperd was great, kinda sound a little different these days though. Er, maybe my hearing is going on me. No wait, it's my memory...

Maybe we should start an '80's credit club hehe.

    but i really digress.

When I occasionally switch to MTV, which is rare(Boy had THAT changed) I still think back to the very first video remember (Video killed the raido star) and Loverboy . I was in LOVE will Elliot from Def L. Ahh those were the days....sign. Did you ever think we would be so obsessed with our credit? I think a course on financial managemnt should be required to graduate from High school. We could all teach it. You know how convicted drunk drivers go around and talk to students. LOL We could have student forums about credit disasters.
