I wrote CE wanting to know how their pro-rating concept works and this is what I received. For those of you who feel the service is not quite worth as much as 80.00 per year, please realize that you are really only paying for it by the month, although it is pre-paid. "Thank you for contacting CreditExpert Customer Service: If you cancel your Credit Manager membership after 4 months of use you will receive a credit of $53.35. The credit is processed within 72 hours of cancellation and it is then up to your financial institution to post it to your account. If we can be of further assistance, please feel free to contact us." I feel much better about paying for this service, knowing that I can cancel after 4 or 5 months. It is very much worth it to me knowing it's really only 7.00 per month.
I debated this issue with them last week, after my service had been down two weeks and they were unable to restore service. One rep told me that there were no refunds at all, except if you cancel within the first 30 days. She said it was my fault because I did not cancel within the first 30 days. Apparently they have no responsibility to their customers when the service stops working. I had the service about six months. They did offer to let me cancel, with no refund, and then sign up again for another $80. I don't think I am that stupid. After many unresponded to phone calls, I finally got a clerk that promised me a full refund last Friday. It has not posted yet, so I will give them a little more time. They need to fox their customer service. I liked the service when it worked. I would have preferred having it fixed rather than a refund. But I had the definate impression they were doing nothing to solve my problem.
