Has anyone noticed the effect of your CreditExpert Score being one number but the simulator shows you at a higher/lower range? For example, CE shows my score at 725 and the simulator shows me being over 800!!! The last time I had this happen seemed like it was due to CE not updating the score yet or fully. I just had a CA removed (my last "baddie" except for a public record!!!!) and my score went from 673 to 725! HAPPY 4th FOR ME!!! But the simulator is way off...for the better! Anyone notice this kind of thing?
I have the same thing. I think it was discussed here before. They only use like 6 factors for scoring in the simulator, so it's not as accurate as their score (which isn't accurate either They even tell you on the simulator site: Why doesn't this score match the one I see on the other pages of Credit Report and Score? Keep in mind that the score simulator is just thatâ?? a simulation. Actual credit scores, like the one you see on your score analysis page, are comprised of as many as 50-100 variables. The score simulator uses only 6 variables that typically have a significant impact on most scores. Although this simplified score will not match your Experian credit score exactly, use the simulator to gain a better understanding how a credit score works, not as an exact representation of your actual credit score.
Kittie, is your public record a judgement, and if so, have you been able to be approved for new credit. How old is the public record?
Thanks Pat! I was just worndering because the simulator has always been fairly accurate as far as what my current score is. This time it is just way off... suedan, my public record is a satisfied judgement from 2/1999 for taxes. Satisfied 5/1999. I've disputed several times as "not mine" but it keeps coming back verified.
Oh and yes, I have been able to get approved for credit in the past when I had more than just the judgement on reports... high interest but approved nontheless...
