Just got this message from creditmania moderator:

I thought I would share it with you all:

    Hi all,

It has been a great run and I am sure countless many have found the
information on this forum invaluable. Unfortunately, it has been
dominated by an individual who has been using his presence for his own
personal gain. CreditMania is in the business of helping others get a
start on restoring their credit and financial lives. Even though we
have bills to pay, and in some months we don't make it, we'll always
be in the mission of helping others. We are not in the mission of
helping individuals exploit the misfortunes of others.

This forum idealistic is a way to exchange ideas, experiences, and
hope. It is not a place for advertisements. So in order to get some
sense of control over this agenda, we have felt it necessary to close
this version of the forum. Folks, there are oodles of great info
inside this forum, so please feel free to search a topic or key word.
You are bound to find someone else with the same problem as you! If
not, please visit our website at www.creditmania.com and search around
there. In the near future we will have our own hosted forum for all
    of our visitors to enjoy.

And in conclusion, if you do decide to hire someone that advertises in
a forum.... remember the old saying "buyer beware!".

We are going to make some major improvements with Creditmania in the
near future as well. So please come by ever so often for the
announcements. Also I'd like to invite anyone wishing to help
moderate the new forum, please leave me an email.

Many thanks and have a great financial future!

I believe they are referring to Bill Bauer.

Actually I found creditnet through credit mania. I joined that forum first and quickly found out that the forum was quite bauer-ized. He became very dominant in most threads (at least the ones that I read).

I'm curious, too....care to share who it was?

Ooops, we must have posted at the same time! How sad that it had to close over that situation!

He does have his own board. But, he always finds a way to take over all the others. LOL

Maybe Barry N. will find his way back here. He was always a valuable and civil contributor. He left here when some people (mercifully no longer with us) started attacking him about x-com. He wasn't affiliated with x-com but he was one of the first who brought it to our attention so people decided to take out their frustration on Barry N. So Barry, if you are reading this, come on back.

I just received a personal email from Barry....and all your assumptions are right. He had nothing bad to say about the person except that the person was dominating the board....advertising his business and that he is hard to moderate becuase he keeps changing ip addresses.

I find Barry to be a very nice and credible person...he has always been helpful to me when I emailed with questions.

I'll tell you one board he didn't take over. He tried that at freeadvice.com and ran into a buzzsaw. Three or four lawyers on that site ripped him apart and then started posting details from public records about his personal finances. He headed for tall timber pretty quick.

You are such a funny old man. It is funny how so many people take your advice and revere you on
this board when you send letters to Planetfeedback whining about a late charge on your secured
capital one card. What a joke. You sure must know alot about credit repair alright. If you were not
allowed to peddle your compilation of plagarized credit repair tactics, you would not contribute
anything to this board. What you do now is just bait people with limited advice and then offer more
for a fee. BTW, do you have an EIN for your so-called business and does the IRS know? Has a
formal complaint been filed with the FTC regarding your claims of removing accurate derogs from
people's reports? If not, do you want one filed? Just keep running your mouth.
