Creeping dates

I have a couple of lates (genuine, my fault) on a JC Penney card and a credit Union Visa from 8/2001.

I tried disputing as never late - no go.
I tried goodwill letters - no go.

Now, I notice that on my most recent pulls from MyFico, the dates of these lates has "crept" from 8/2001 to 2/2001. I wonder, if I dispute that I was never late in Feb, 2001 (which is 100% correct), will they probably drop off, or will they probably just get corrected?

On the one hand, older lates are better than newer lates. On the other hand, no lates are better than any at all!

Having already disputed, are the CRAs likely to regard any new dispute as frivolous?

Thanks in advance for any advice.

You have "grasped" the idea of a SPECIFIC DISPUTE that I have been preaching! LOL

-YOU WERE LATE. BUT, that is NOT your DISPUTE RIGHT?

-YOU WERE NEVER LATE IN A CERTAIN MONTH :)

-I assumed this was easy to understand, but misconception abounds :)

-This is the danger of sending out generic disputes as many of these letters and opinions suggest.

-LONG GONE is the day when you could send volleys (SP?) of disputes in an attempt to overwhelm the reporting agency and hope they cant verify in 30 days and get a deletion.

-The same techniques that are on the boards for use by consumers, ARE ALSO BEING READ BY REPORTING AGENCIES AND COLLECTION AGENCIES.

-THE LAW is the bottom line :)
