I was the authorized user on an Amex Blue that my Fiance opened for me to use to pay off some debts. I put everything I needed to on it and paid it off within six months. It is being reported on my credit report as $1003 balance/ open. It is actually a $0 balance/ closed. We closed the card as soon as I paid it off. It has not been reported since 2/2003. Question: Is is worse to have a balance and open account or a zero paid never late and closed account? I want my score to rise and want to know if I should prompt them to investigate to get this to be taken care of faster.. Thanks!!
Write to AMEX asking them to UPDATE with the CRA'S...I disputed N/A CREDIT BALANCE ON AMEX BLUE WITH EXPERIAN AND LOST IT FOREVER!!! PAID/NEVER LATE "ACCOUNT CLOSED BY CONSUMER" BALANCE $0 THE ABOVE IS WHAT YOU WANT "IF" you have enough credit limits UN-USED to compensate...just forget it..."IF" you can't afford the RISK OF LOSING IT!!! The CRA'S are MORE likely to DELETE than AMEX...
They would actually DELETE it if I just asked them to update the balance????? The same people who make it hell to delete anything negative? UGH.
Okay. Called AMEX, talked to someone, they gave me the number of the credit reporting department to call tomorrow between 9-5. LOVE bureaucracy.
