I called Cross Country Bank the other day, and asked them if they could possibly lower my APR% from thw 20.99%. The guy I spoke with told me that the rate I am at is the lowest they offer. Can anyone disprove this ? Also, I asked him if I could get a reduced fee when I accept a credit line increase, and he told me they just dont do that. I have been a good on-time payer since I got this account 8 months ago, and it seems like they may not give something back. Any advice? Deputy TU 540---Yuck EQ 556---Grrr EX 535---ACK !
I am in exactly the same boat as you..I used PFB to have them waive the fee for CL increases though...
They've got you over a barrel, and they know it (lower scores, etc.). Just deal with it, don't charge much on it, until you can dump it for a better card (as your credit improves). That's what I did -- kept it for about 1.5 years or so, then dumped it as soon as I could get approved for a better card @ a better rate. That was 4 years ago. Now, CCB is simply a closed PAID AS AGREED on my reports.
