If you talk to the right people , you can get anything you want from these people. Dont go screaming lawsuit or you will never get anywhere. Creative thinking and talking got a 1800 dollar charge off bought back from collections (2 yrs after it was sold) and settled and deleted for 180 dollars, TOTALLY DELETED. I had to sign a confidentiality statement. but hey got me a 690 score and a 200k house in Mentor!
Try calling a few numbers in the Executive Assistants office, search the web and find the phone numbers, I have found believe it or not that the people who work in the Executive Office of CCB are quite professional and reasonable if your non confrontational. If ya tell me whats wrong i may be able to help you. I personally had this problem I had an acct in college (first card) , was irresponsible charged off a 800+ dollar balance, and all that jazz, They listed it twice on my CR, I called the C/A no luck just demand for payment. called office of the president, no luck, called the Executive Offices, politely explained that i had 2 accts identically matching on my CR and 1 may be fraud, I wasnt sure which to pay so I paid neither, Long story short I had a clean report besides this nonsense, I let them pull all 3 reports to look and see I had a clean history and this had to be a mistake, He decided after 3 days, that If i paid 180 dollars 10% of the balance with late fees, otl fees etc we would be square, I sent em a cert check overnight signed and returned the confidentiality agreement and it was removed about 2 weeks later.
I am dealing with them right now - trying to stay non-confrontational; dealing with a higher up - wanted to know if they sent you a 1099c after they settled? hoping to avoid that --
nope.. they sent me nothing but fed ex of a lengthy contract in legalese and the demand for the money which i sent. and it came off shortly afterward, the key to these jokers is to not threaten them , not mention the fact that they are scamsters, and let em think that they are a good company..
I have tried to be firm and calm - all in writing - want a paper trail - haven't been screaming lawsuit, have been emphasizing being reasonable and fair; hoping their recent spate of law suits, from at least 4 states that I know of, will help make them a little more amenable to making all this go a way - thanks for your quick response -
