I was wondering is there anyway to demand the account be closed to stop late fees and other fees that are insane? Also is there a cap on the interest rate that can be charged to an account? I pay what I can but they charge more fees then I could ever keep up with. 2000 dollar limit is now almost 4000 dollars is insane. I have considered complaining to the Comsumer Protection here in Alaska but I doubt it would do any good. Not real sure. These guys drive me insane! I have tried to keep some kind of payment up each month but they are not happy with it ever and I can not catch up. And then want to charge you 12 dollars to make a electronic payment! WTF Thanks for any help I am at my wits end and can not win with these guys.
They are predators. Do a search here and you'll read a lot, especially 3 or 4 years ago. Whether or not there's an interest limit depends on the state, usually not. I don't think you can keep from incurring the fees. The best you can do is borrow money from somewhere else and pay them off. But try to catch them in violations, perhaps you can sue them and get it dropped that way. They were famous for calling at all hours of the day and night, and calling after being advised to communicate only in writing. Maybe you can get enough out of them to pay the account off.
