    Will it work?

I am about to send a Validation to
Universal Credit Corporation and I have the following info taken from my credit report and a collection notice they sent

    PO Box 23815
    San Diego, CA 92193

will I have any problems if I send this CRRR?

I haven't had any problems sending a CRRR to a po box. I think only if they refuse to sign but it will get there.

    Hey Cibo,

Sometimes they will put a special address for disputes on your dunning notices. If that's the case then you must use that address. In the absence of it use the return address on your notice.

Always be on the lookout for that second address. If it's there and we use the other one they can ignore you and it will hold up in court.

    Good Luck

    :)

    Butch,

I've seen this second address you're referring to. However, I've never once used it. The reason? I felt (and believe I've read about a few instances on the board) that that "disputes only" address is an address set up where the CA never picks up their mail, thus causing the consumer to lose a months (or close to) worth of time trying to get the CA to validate, and also could potentially squeeze the consumer out of the initial 30-day timeframe period.

The way I see it, the address that is setup to show in the window of the return envelope, or that is pre-printed on the return envelope, is an address they (the CA) will be willing to pick up mail, because thats where they expect their checks to go.

........Just re-read your post. Just to clarify, I've never just used the return address itself. What I have always used is whatever address the CA gives the consumer where the CA expects the consumer to send money to. Never an address set up specifically for disputes only.
