OK...here's a new one. I faxed a letter to CSC a week ago from my bank stating that a loan is being reported incorrectly. The letter is signed by the loan supervisor. I called today to see if it has been changed yet.

The person at CSC tells me that they won't consider the letter because the signature is unverifiable. I go around and around with this person for 5 minutes before I finally get a straight answer on what "unverifiable" means. Apparently if a signature does not clearly show all the letters in the name, they won't use it. Or to quote the rep, "It can't just be squiggly lines or whatever."

I called the loan supervisor at my bank and she said CSC has her signature on file as being valid.

Oh and another thing. The CSC rep tells me that they cannot call a creditor. Everything must be done by written correspondance. So they refuse to call the loan supervisor and verify that she did indeed write the letter. This totally contradicts what is written on an investigation results letter I got from CSC..."WHEN RE-INVESTIGATING DISPUTED INFORMATION, CSC'S PROCEDURE IS TO CONTACT THE SOURCE OF THE INFORMATION DIRECTLY, EITHER BY AN AUTOMATED REVERIFICATION SYSTEM, BY LETTER OR BY TELEPHONE."

    AAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHH!!!

    OK...I feel better now.

Call back and ask for a supervisor. What she told you is pure B.S. I have had both TU and Experian call creditors for me and today Equifax is calling gulf state.

Any advice on getting a supervisor?? It's like pulling teeth to get a rep to put a supervisor on the phone. Seems like a silly thing, but the reps always try to play 20 questions once I ask.

If they refuse, ask for their name so your atty will know who to address the next communication to.

I am new to this sight. I am now in the progress of dealing with Gulf State. I noticed you have a tag on your post. What should I expect from them? They just settled one of my accounts for almost 50% of the balance.

For starters, I would not pay them. Send them the validation letter found in the letters forum here. They won't be able to prove the debt as yours. They told me they buy accounts in bulk for pennies on the dollar. They get zero info with these accounts. They have agreements with the original creditors, that if necessary, the original creditor will provide the proof. Most of the time, they do not provide or don't have it ot provide. Then, Gulf State will have no proof and will by law, have to remove the tradeline from your reports.
