I have had the opportunity to watch CSC at their finest. I have disputed two accounts, the last on my report, for over six months now. Each and everytime I dispute, they verify and give me a friendly reminder not to mess with them. This reminder is in the form of additional lates. It is almost like they know what you are trying to do. For instance, I disputed these two accounts over 50 days ago, no response. I call a supervisor, she says that she will delete these files or erase the payment history. I give them the benefit of the doubt. Then BOOM They re-insert a tradeline from a previously disputed account that was paid in full a year ago. They only insert 1 (90) day. Well score goes down 13 points. Next I check and the account I have in dispute goes from 15 (90) lates to 27(90) and they put that it was late on these following months, 6-02,7-02,8-02. This tanks my score 50 points. This account was charged-off in 97. So now I will be sueing for re-insertion without notice, not reporting accurate info, failure to investigate. Can you guys think of any other violations?
Well I thought so. Eq. has been affiliating with 3rd parties that cover certain areas. I believe it's to avoid liability for manipulating our files. They are now in the business of "paying us back" for disputing TL's. The only thing we can do is start filing EN MASSE. I plan to file in Federal District Court, in demand of a jury trial. I will include the affiliate AND the home office. Then I will start "Document Production, Interrogotories, Depositions" and anything else I can think of. Whether it's a bunch of terrorists who fly plains into buildings or terrorists who play games with our CR's this must be met with overwhelming force. If they want to play games with my file, it's gonna be expensive. Don't forget to explain everything to the FTC and your AG's office. BTW - I also have an appt. to go see my Congressman too.
I too had strange stuff on my credit report after a phone call to CSC, like someone went threw my credit reports adding comments. I had one credit card changed to secured credit card that is untrue.
tedtx, that is what im talking about. They like to punish you when you dispute. Im not making this up either. They are making me pay big time. I had almost a clean report, disputed and its like they said, no way buddy, here is some stuff to keep you at bay. They know deep down inside that they can just play dum(clerical mistake) and get away with it. Also very few consumers will even raise a ruckus, except creditnetters. I have a surprise for them first thing tomorrow morning..
can you share your knowledge? i disputed some late pays on my hubby's report, said 90 days 60 days 30 days. it was a mortgage loan that has been paid off for 6 months. they corrected to say 180 days.
Although I haven't had near the bad luck you've had with your report and CSC, I did the following after several months of disputing and CSC not responding: 1. Gathered all violations according to the FCRA with every dispute I had made over the last year culminating in a total of 12 violations=$12k 2. Called CSC and talked calmly and knowledgably of the violations and what I wanted CSC to do. I spent 3 hours on the phone with 2 reps who ended up cutting me off twice after finally agreeing to transfer me to a supervisor. Record the calls. 3. Called 800 information and found a back door number that eventually got me to a supervisor for credit disputes. 4. Briefly gave her my case and stated that I DID NOT want re-investigation, but rather deletion. Telling her not to make changes until she received my fax. She mentioned she needed an hour to 'search' for my file to verify my disputes. 5. Immediately faxed a letter stating violations and quotes from the reps I had talked with later (adding more violations) 6. Recieved a call 1/2 hour later from a very apologetic CSC supervisor (same person) who immediately agreed to delete and suppress all accounts I was disputing, and included an account I didn't include in my fax request. 7. As we were talking I accessed my report via CW and saw that my score had jumped 89 points and I didn't have one derog at all. It's been several weeks and everything so far has stayed the same.
I Kept being denied by American Express for 2 collections that were on my report, or as they said. These have never showed on my reports , so I called CSC. Well to make a long story short CSC has put two of my family members collections on my file. But for some strange reason they never showed on any of the reports I've received. The rep. from CSC said that the collections were under my family members name, but under MY social security number. Therefore the creditor (amex) was receving a merged report including the collections she said. I mailed them a copy of my drivers license, social security card as they requested along with a letter explaining whats going on. hopefully they'll simply delete, they'd better! But I guess I'll have to wait and see...... Also the rep. made it very clear that "they have 30 days."
Notice the components that made Mikes campaign successful. 1) He had his violations proven and lined up in chronological order. 2) He spoke calmly and with authority on the subject matter. 3) He got to the "right person". Someone who was in a position to SUFFER if he had to file suit. (CSR's don't care whether you sue or not). 4) He didn't ask for help, he demanded it. He was very specific about what remdies he wanted. 5) Made sure they understood he was NOT requesting re-investigation, which would allow CSC to screw him around for at least another 30 days. I only live about 10 mins away from CSC and they refused to let me come in to talk about my credit report.
I believe after reading mike's post, that I will pursue with that method. I sometimes feel the need to go at it right when they do something stupid. However, now that I think about it, I have been collecting stuff on them for about 6 months now. It's time to get everything out and do some inventory! Thanks for the insight.

I live about 25 minutes from CBS, but have to deal with CSC clear across the country! They don't want you to have physical contact with them is what I think.
