How to update my company profile with credit references. Say there is ABC software company who has given me a credit of $20, how can I make it show in my company credit report. Similary if I give a credit limit to my client, how do I make it show in their report. We all have dun numbers here.

I dont like to pay $400 just to update the file. It is good for 6 months only any way. It is easy money for them and they keep calling even if I say not interested to waste my money.

D&B claims you have to have credit builder, but I have a Staples account that shows and I don't have credit builder.

I'm guessing there is a way to report, but you may need to clever or devious to find out how. We'd all like to know.

    Hi Bigmon,

After how many months, did your staples account show up in the report. Does it show the limit and how did you view the report by paying $9 ? I had received an email from them saying you can view the report for $9 instead of the regular price $24.

I got staples and office deport card account last week, waiting for capital one, dont know the status yet. Those D&B sales ladies are crooks. I told them that all I need is paydex score and they keep telling that paydex will not help for anything. Atleast the other 3 CRA wont keep pestering anybody for $400.

I have not purchased the credit builder. I simply got the free D&B number. I DO have a paydex number.
DO NOT LET THEM SELL YOU THE CREDIT BUILDER BY TELLING YOU THAT IS THE ONLY WAY TO GET A PAYDEX. IT'S A LIE!!!!

    David,

A few months ago D&B had a promotion where you could look at the report for free for 3 months. This is how I was able to look. I'm not sure how long the Staples took to report because I had the account for a year before I saw the D&B report.

There is away to get Paydex without Credit Builder, but they don't want to tell anyone. I'm guessing it's a matter of your vendors reporting the accounts.

Aren't you able to view your DnB file when you acess through epdate? when i log into their eupdate page it gives me the option to simply look at the file or update it.
How many trades are on your file before noting the paydex? I have heard 5-7 trades but am guessing this is not necessarily the rule according to some who claim they have a paydex without 7 trades.

another question... when two people want to list each others trades on their DnB file do they have to buy creditbuilder to do this? is there any other way to list a paying trade on another's file? thanks

D&B told me the only way a vendor can report an item to your D&B file is if they have an active D&B file.

Creditbuilder is a product that allows you to add "mom & Pop" tradelines/accounts to build a quick credit history. You cannot add larger accounts such as Home Depot etc, they report automatically. Say you do biz with a local tile company that is D & B listed. If you buy CB, D & B will send you a form you fill out that allows you to list these small M & P accounts that you send back to D & B and allows you to build a PayDex score. They add these to your DnB biz profile and if you have 5 or so TL, you get a PAyDex.

If you don't have any of these accounts, Credit Builder is a waste of money/time. If all of your Biz TL are major accounts, they will report automatically to your D & B report anyway. Some will report if you ask them to and give them your DnB #.

If you want Business Credit Cards, ie Amex Gold Business Card, Advanta, etc, you MUST sign a PG and credit will be granted based on your personal "consumer" scores. There are very few Biz CC that will give you credit w/o a PG.

For the most part, Creditbuilder is a big waste of money

    unless...
you are in a big time hurry to build a Paydex
have a list of small, mom & pop accounts that are DB listed w/ their #s that are willing to talk to D & B
have $400 burning a hole in your pocket
If most of your Biz accounts are larger businesses (Home Depot/Staples/Office Depot, etc) they will report to your D & B report automatically and you do not need Creditbuilder
Remember much of biz credit is not revolving like Consumer credit.

Many are net 30 or less...
There are some revolving biz accounts such as

    Home Depot
    Office Depot
    Best Buy
    Dell
    etc
Sears, Jc Penney, Viking, UPS are net 30 or less ( Net 7 for UPS)
Check your terms before charging up a biz account to be sure it is revolving. ASk specifically if the terms are net 30 if it isn't painfully obvious.

D & B will lie to you and say that your account isn't active unless you buy CB.

That is an outright deception & not true.

I would like to know what their description of "active" is.

All tradelines on my D & B report have reported automatically, I never purchased CB.

D&B told me my file will remain inactive until I purchase a product that will ACTIVATE my file. They are trying to sell me on the monitoring scope program for $219.00. They realize the credit builder is not for me since all my creditors already report to D&B. They also told me D&B will NOT create a paydex for me until I purchase this program.

I believe what they are doing is fraud. They are being very deceptive to businesses trying to sell these programs.

I have said the same exact thing. That company uses very deceptive business practices. They know that most companies have accounts with companies that automatically report. They shouldn't be able to penalize you and make you buy a product that you can't use. I have seen people get a Paydex without Credit Builder. It just takes longer.

My theory is they update the businesses who have Credit Builder first and then all of the other business files get update.

I also have a question about epdate. I get the same thing. It says sample. How do you actually see your report through epdate?

I have only 4 trades, and have a 75 paydex, they told me 80 was perfect (viking office products, when i opened a NET account with them). I can view my report free by going into eupdate.

    Re: Re: D&B credit reference?

How old is your corporation? How old are each of the 4 accounts listed? If you don't mind me asking, who are your creditors?

How long did it take for you to get a 75 paydex?
