i was told today that a car lien will automatically fall off in the state of PA if there has been no payment on the account, nor any attempt at repossesion, for 5 years. has anyone heard of this? If so, i may have solved my problem in getting dads car from the bank since he passed away anyhow. any ideas?

I would love to know anything about this. I'm not in PA, but have a simialr situation.

We filed Bk Chap 7 in Utah about 3 years ago. We chose not to reaffirm our loan since the car needed some repairs at the time and the payment was really more than we could afford. The bank never took it. About a year later, I called them and they offered me the title for 1/3 the amount of the loan but I didn't have the cash. They said they didn't want it and I could actually use it but never have the title.. I got it fixed and have been driving it since.

The bank merged recently and I even got the entire account removed from all 3 CRA's. It was showing us as a charge off with a million late pays.

I wonder if I will ever get the title.
