For medical collections, does anyone know the legal requirements for when the date of delinquency should be?

I went to the doctor in February 2005, and never paid the bill (it was submitted to insurance and rejected). Iâ??m listed for a date of delinquency of October 2005, 8 months later!!!

Even though they were trying to submit it to insurance, shouldnâ??t the date of delinquency be the date of the visit since payment is due at the time visit.

in my opinion, it would be delinquent, one day after visit and 30 days later reportable.

If terms and/or payments were made, account would be delinquent when a payment was missed. Once 30 days late, it can be reported.

It is late for the purposes of credit reporting once it has gone thirty days past the due date. Of course, medical providers cannot report information on your reports that others can see. However, debt collectors can and they always report the day they open the account which is inaccurate.
