I have a collection listed by Midland credit management for $1,400. Providian was the OC($960). I disputed online the Providian TL with Experian and it was deleted. There is no Midland entry showing on Experian. Equifax is only reporting the Midland tradeline and has the date of first delinquency as 7/2001 and a date reported as 4/2008. I disputed this as well and have not yet gotten results. Should i have refrained?? Will it fall off soon. TU has the Providian TL reported as closed/sold to another lender and under the collections heading, has Midland credit reporting as derogatory with a date opened 3/31/2003. Both TU and Equifax reports indicate that the account is being disputed. Should I wait for results or should I send validation to Midland? I know the account is not mine. Not sure if I am being clear, but any advice/comments would be greatly appreciated. Or, if I am not being being clear enough and more info is needed please advise. Thank you.
Since its so old, and due to fall off in a few months, you might get it deleted on a cra dispute alone. How far into the 30 days are you now?
thanks for the reply. I am only about a week into the dispute w/ EQ & TU. As I said, I disputed online 2 months ago thru experian and they deleted it right away. I am just worried about Midland re-aging it. However, I have searched and read several older posts that basically indicate that date of first delinquency cant be re-aged legally. Therefore is my assumption correct that even if they were to verify it, will they have to cease reporting it??? Also, as I examined my TU closer. I noticed that after Providian Charged it off, it went to Unifund (opened 2/1/03), then it went to Midland (opened 3/31/03) that lists providian as OC. Should I DV Unifund since it appears they no longer have it. My goal is to get unifund off entirley.
If you are going to worry about the various ways they can break the law, you are going to worry a lot.
