ok, i just noticed on my creditexpert that RNB mervyns & target say date opened 11/97
    reported since 12/2001
    date of status 12/2001
    last reported 12/2001
and on equifax date opened 11/97
last activity 3/1998 revolving charge off
    date reported 12/2001
now my question, every month target and mervyns report a charge off on all 3 CR's the first charge off was in 1998 then no reporting until 2001 when they add this like clockwork. now on creditexpert it says for mervyns ACCOUNT HISTORY: charge off as of 12-2001 and for target ACCOUNT HISTORY: charge off as of 1-2002! is this right? these were charged off in 1998. but it looks like every month it is a new charge off. I AM CONFUSED! any answers? thx, kelly

Do you have the past reports showing different dates? If you do then you have it made. I had the same thing happen to me, I just sent a letter to the CRA citing the law on re-aging and told them that this account obviously couldn't be reported accurately, gave them 7 days to remove and it was done.

i just checked CE on all on my disputed items and they re-aged everything that was not deleted! I have the orginal reports printed out and on my HD this should be interesting!

I had a major listing deleted because of re-aging. Good going. This is the best reason for keeping all of your reports. I like it best this way because they don't have to re-investigate and I just give them 7 days to fix it.

    Good luck to you.

When you say re-age what category I.E. dla, open date , verified date, etc. was changed to re-age the account?

Mine was on Experian and it was the status date. It changed 3 times and consequently the scheduled fall off date changed. I just did 2 for my husband (1 Experian, 1 Trans Union) and 1 (Experian) for me today. These were the dates the account closed and affected the fall off date also.

At this point I am using every technicality I can my hands on. Whenever I get a new report I check every tradeline for any differences against prior reports.

I just checked my Experian report after getting an email alert from CreditExpert and a BK discharged Citibank VISA account just got reaged to a date of status of 12/2001. The reported since date also got changed to 12/2001 also. The date of status should be around 11/1997. What is going on here with all of these reaging of accounts?

Yes, I send them copies of the reports. I cite the FCRA and tell them I will file suit.

They re-age hoping we don't know our rights. A lot of people on this board have said, and I believe them, that if they can keep our scores down it is more profitable.
