i also noticed that on my credit report they list the bad credit as date reported but its not the date that i fell behind it seems that they keep updating the date to current date even thu the acct is from 7-10 yrs ago HELP anyone!
The date reported, or date of last activity will change when the DF's udate to the CRA's, but the only date that is important is the date the account went delinquent. the cra's don't always show this date on their reports...
thank you.. but how do i get the cra to remove some of the inaccurate and outdated reports from my credit report ,they tell me (cra) that they go by date reported and the law is 10 years that they can keep it on there for bad credit .thank you
Re: Re: dates for reporting 10 years only applies to BK information, and maybe some tax lien information....If a CA has illegally "reaged" any accounts, you will have to request that the CA validate your account, and then dispute the entry on your CR. This will force the CRA to conduct an investigation and they will remove any derogatory information more than 7 years old
Re: Re: dates for reporting Not even all of the employees of the CRA's know that the date reported is not the date of delinquency. Do you think that every CRA employee has actually taken the time to review the FCRA as extensively as an educated consumer has to, to know how to defend their rights? If they did, do you think we would have as many problems? Considering that I had the *PRESIDENT'S OFFICE* of a CRA telling me that *FEDERAL TRADE COMMISSION* settlements were only valid for the states whose AG's also had settlements with the company, and that she was told by *HER* BOSS, that the settlement didn't apply to me, despite that even the letter from the company ADMITTED that the settlement *DID* apply to me, not even people in the highest offices of the CRA's know everything that they should. The best part is that they were even trying to say that the account could have been opened and 90-120 days late in the same exact month, *AND* that was reporting the matter correctly. I eventually had to package up the 80+ pages of documentation from the Federal Trade Commission to them C/O their Better Business Bureau chapter, (who actually took about 2 weeks to sift through every page in the stack, *BEFORE* forwarding it on to them), and miraculously after 10 continous months of refusing to delete the account, it was gone in 24 hours after the BBB forwarded it to them, I actually got the BBB's letter saying that they forwarded it to them, and the CRA's deletion letter on the same day.
