Once an account is placed with a law firm. What action can be taken to keep it out of the court system. Is it still possible to deal directly with the creditors, and leave the lawyers out of it? Which would you suggest BK7 or 13. I've already paid one judgment but do anticipate more to come. This past judgment cost me twice the amount of the initial debt after legel fees and court costs. HELP!

Settlement is always an option. Is the law firm also acting as a CA? It happens often, and if so, then you can take the validation route.

It might even be worth talking to the OC to see if you can work something out directly with them, and kindly ask them to call of their dogs.
