As I read and answer many of the posts on this site, I am growing increasingly concerned. It seems that everyone is requesting or giving advice on how to beat the creditors?! I don't get it. Has there been a complete failure of your parents to instill the knowledge of the difference between what is right and wrong? You people need to be held accountable for the consequences of your actions (no matter how foolish they may have been) and pay what you owe instead of trying to shirk your responsibilites. You apply for an account and get declined (because you have a steaming pile for a credit file) and you request to have the inquiry removed? If you come across my desk, I will fight you every step of the way. With the increase in the bankruptcy rate, the only repercussion that I see, is the tightening of lending criteria, which just means that many of you will be stuck with sub-prime lenders for a greater length of time. If you can't be responsible with anything (no matter what it may be) don't bother using it.

It may be true that some people here are looking at ways to "cheat" the system. I try not to judge them and lose sight of the big picture and main focus of this board, and that is credit education. I really didn't know much about credit before finding this board almost a year ago. My situation is simple. I paid bills late from time to time and didn't realize the impact this would have on my future. I have been current on all of my accounts for a year and a half now. I will not lie and say that all of the deliquencies that I disputed were incorrect, but I did have several that were incorrect. Without this board, I am sure I would have continued to make poor credit decisions. Does FICO care if I have paid all of my accounts on time for a year and a half? No.

FICO doesn't care because they are the originators of the original scoring system and that is it. If you have a 10 yr file and you have only paid on time in the last year and a half, does that sound good to you? If you pay your truck bill late what can happen, reposession. How about your house, foreclosure. Anytime someone breaks a contract whether it is a car, house or credit card the repercussions are just. I am sure that if you loaned someone money in good faith and they were not timely, or didn't pay you at all, the "relationship" would sour.

You sound like George W. Bush after MBNA and the other huge CC companies contributed millions in soft money to the campaign. Our wonderful President had to be bailed out 3 or 4 times from "sour" business ventures at the expense of taxpayers.

If you have nothing positive to contribute to this forum, leave. Your whining falls on deaf ears here.

I consider the issue one of "due process." The FCRA states that all information contained in a credit report must be accurate; further, the creditor must be able to prove that the information that they are reporting is indeed accurate.

Honestly, in the years of assisting people with cleaning up their credit, I've never seen a company that kept accurate and complete records be forced to delete derogatory information from a credit report. When a company has had to delete, it has been because they didn't exercise due dilligence in keeping records.

It is everyone's right to demand that a creditor prove any negative allegations against you. It's the basis of our legal system -- can't prove allegation; no case.

Remember creditors have the upper hand here. A creditor who has maintained accurate records to prove that a debtor is irresponsible can dog that person for a very long time-- at least seven years on a credit report. In CA if they sue and get a judgment that judgment is good for ten years and then can be renewed for another ten.

Then pull a copy of all 3 bureaus and read the risk identifiers and it will explain the scores. You did something to get a 704.

It happens about once a month. Some newcomer shows up, reads the board for a few days, becomes "concerned," and then attempts to tell people who've been posting here for a year or more how to behave. Oh well.

I would consider experience overall. Not just the fact of when they found they site. Not concerned at all, I am actually having fun trying to explain what "responsibility" is.

    Oh well.

The info on GW was all in the news during the election. This was before he bought into the Texas Rangers and acquired his great wealth. Look it up under failed oil business ventures. If you can't PROVE it's incorrect, shut your mouth until you can.

It's funny, I usually think Psychologists are quacks, but in this case I have to concur with a known behaviorial condition that exists in some people that have a propensity to maliciously attack other individuals to compensate for some lack of self-esteem or physical deficiency. Which is it? Do you have low self image because you never worked hard in your whole life and feel guilty because your parents paid your way through college so that you could work behind a desk and let some authority go to your head? Or do you just have poor self-esteem because of a small weenie? Which is it?

BTW, I don't watch Nick, my 10 year old son does. If you need any help with any of the words above, let me know. I am a college graduate, and I won't bother mentioning my academic accomplishments as you will most likely turn it around to soothe your low self-esteem problem.

How do you like the personal attacks? I can play that game as well.

You get 4 "risk identifiers" regardless of whether they are correct or not. With a 850 FICO, you will have 4 risk identifiers. DUH.
    Next remark Einstein?

    phinneous,

You won't last long around here with your attitude. Why are you even here if you're so perfect? Did you just want to come here to give those of us who are "lesser" than you a hard time?

I find the first sentence of your post real curious since you only have a total of 13 posts.

Please go back under the bridge with the other trolls.

    Thank You,

    M

    Right on George,
Since FICO has such an impact on all our lives maybe they should educate the American people on how to play the game they control.
I too have never payed a soul late in my life. My sin was not realizing that just having finance company accounts lowers my score. At least EQ. and TU admit to this fact. Experian remains silent. My score on Experian is 717. 99% revolving available. No lates or derogs. EVER. 3 inq. last 2 years.
I see FICO scores everyday much higher than mine. With limited history. No real high lines of credit. I make 4 times some of these people. Some of them I would'nt trust to shovel my driveway. But, because of their score. Whammo, instant approval.
Phinneas, there are some of us just getting screwed. And If some here can screw em' back. GOOD.

I wasn't going to respond because something like that is just to goat people on, but you need to know the facts of each individual's case before you become the "judge and jury" so-to-speak. Maybe someone had Cancer and had a choice between their lives and their bills. I personally would choose my life. Maybe someone had a terrible car accident. Who the hell are you to point your finger.

Everyone that comes here is here for their own specific reasons. If they choose to divulge that information, GREAT! If not, then that is why it is THEIR information. Personal information is very personal, and if you don't bother to ask, then you can't judge.

Just making a blanket statement, like you did, is very unreasonable, and I resent that.

I may have a "steaming pile for a credit file" as you call it, but it is MINE. And I will take care of my PERSONAL information in any way I please.

AND get off of your soapbox. You must be here for a reason too. Care to explain?

Oh, and by the way Phinneus,
We all know what your probably doing with yourself while you pontificate on our low life message board. And, quite frankly, you might have more fun at the hustler site.
