what's a good way to pay off old debts? i'd want to keep my credit cards because i'm rebuilding, but i have old charge-offs, phone bills and miscellaneous others on my reports. i'm not a homeowner, and only have assets (restaurant equipment, etc.) as some sort of collateral. some of these debts will supposedly "fall off" in a year or two, but i need to pay some important ones off. my sister got a consolidation loan; her payments are $350 for a $9900 loan (she doesn't own @!#$ and didn't even close all of her credit accounts). any suggestions?
