Here is the quesiton: Boyfriend has been in debt program 5 years, debts were not ever high(3,000.00 maybe) don't know why he ever entered it, however he did and it was supposed to be down wiht this month, 5 eyar program with Genus. He kept ontop and maintained acct for first two years and things were fine so he started just throwing the statements from cards entered into a envelope unopened. Now that it ahs been 5 years and I am trying to help his credit I find this: Sears card when he entered program: $800.00 balance. he has paid Sears directly through Genus: 23.00/month for 60 months: $1380.00. His balance is $1,990.00?!?....(over limit fees apparently). What are my options. Do I have bargaining tool with Sears here or wiht Genus? Please help me...bottom line. Balance was $800.00 Genus said in 5 years pay us this amount and your cards will be paid off. 5 years and $1380.00 to this card alone and the balance has more than doubled. options?
