Hi. I am wondering- after making a verbal agreement of a debt settlement with a CC, what is the best wording to negotiate for the debt for the credit files? I know not to pay anything until I get everything in writing...but don't know what to ask them to include in the credit reports.
You don't want them to include anything in the reports. You want them to delete the item from all cra's. Do a search here for settlement agreement or deletion for payment. You should find quite a few posts and some will most likely have sample letters.
